ATELIER KEMPE THILL

Andre Kempe (1968) and Oliver Thill (1971) are two German architects. They both studied architecture in the Dresden University of Technology where they graduated in 1996. They moved to Rotterdam where they started working. In 1999 they won Europan 5 with a 300 dwellings project in Kop van Zuid in the Netherlands. Motivated by the accomplishment they formed Atelier Kempe Thill in 2000. One year after they completed their first built project, the award wining “Light Building”. Since then they have participated and won several competitions in Europe. In 2005 they received the Rotterdam Maaskant Prize for Young Architects and they won “Dutch Architect on the Year Award” in 2011.
